Thank you for your email. I’m doing well and have just moved to Mt Dora, Florida. I’m renting for a year while my condo is being build in an active retirement community.

I was able to sell the house, farm and RV park to a local couple. They own several farms in the area and are very successful vegetable farms. The 120 acres will be put into Pennsylvania land conservation, so it will not be developed, that would make my late husband very happy.

David, your service was outstanding and everything you said you would do, you followed through. You made my job of selling my husband’s Ham estate very easy and I want you to know how much I appreciate your help.

Thank you for your service. Faced with the dilemma of determining how to sell a collection of vintage ham radio and stereo gear, I asked you for your assistance. After an on site inspection, you agreed to sell the collection. For a reasonable fee, you arranged to have the equipment picked up and moved to your site.

You chose to spread the equipment over two auctions and sold every piece of equipment at prices in excess of what I thought they would bring. Your fee was well earned.

Just finished working with David since last fall. A very good friend had a lot of equipment, – high end, vintage as well as current transceivers plus many parts, tubes, etc. Most people wanted to come in and cherry pick the lot, which sometimes leaves a lot of odds and ends of no value. Contacted David, he and his crew of great guys came to the house with a 24′ truck. Cleaned out the basement. The gear brought excellent returns for my friend’s wife and family. We all have to be very careful about selling our gear today but no worry with David. He is the real deal.

The amplifiers arrived and are in like new shape. That may have been the best packing job I’ve seen for something like this. Thanks for professionally auctioning off a few thousand dollars of ham gear for me recently. From picking it all up at my residence, to checking it out once you got it up to Kansas City, photographing it, marketing it, selling it, and getting me a check two days after the close of the auction, thanks. My father had been a ham radio and related item collector for most of his life. When he passed, the sheer enormity and my ignorance of what I was dealing with was overwhelming. I’ve been an amateur radio operator since 1962. As you can imagine I’ve collected a large amount of gear over the years. My prime collecting has been vintage gear, mainly AM tube gear and related equipment dating from the late ‘30s to the early ‘60s.

Well it was finally time to retire! My goal was to move to Florida from my long-time home in Kansas. Found a place in Florida I fell in love with and put the home QTH in Kansas up for sale. Yikes, it sold in five days; I wasn’t expecting that. I thought it would take five months. So I found myself in a position that I needed to reduce the size of my ham collection. The idea of selling it through “eBay” and all the hassles, and sometimes grief, just did not appeal to me. That’s when I found David Schulman and Schulman Auctions. With as much gear as I had I thought it was a long-shot that an auction company would be willing to look at my gear and be willing to do all the work to put it in an auction. Most auction companies would pick and choose what they wanted a require me to deliver to their auction house. Not so with Schulman Auctions. I was pleasantly surprised when I explained my situation to David. Not only was he willing to pick up all my gear but he also verified the condition of the equipment himself. I was faced with a dilemma. What to do with a collection of Amateur Radio Equipment?

I was trustee for my old boss and had a number of classic Collins, Drake, TenTec, and other radios that had to be sold to settle the estate. My first thought was to take them to hamfests and sell them there.

However, my over 35 years of experience of being a hamfest vendor convinced me I did not want to do that. And, due to COVID restrictions, there were also no hamfests to go to.

What to do?

I did some investigation and found Schulman Auction was well versed in helping settle estates.

My initial conversation with David Schulman set me at ease and I felt confident in using their services despite the logistics of getting the radios from New Hampshire to Missouri. The radios were packed and put into a shipping container and trucked to Kansas City MO using ABF trucking.

Upon arrival the radios were unpacked and checked out by their technicians. The radios were auctioned in the spring of 2021 and Schulman’s estimate of their value was spot on. David knows his audience.

After the auction, the payment was received promptly and without question.
